Refrence To Hindustan Times. On Monday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested another active co-conspirator of the November 10 Red Fort blast thus narrowing to the investigation it claims is a sophisticated white-collar terrorist network which operates in several states.
Technical Handler Age 20 yrs arrested.
Jasir Bilal Wani or Danish, the arrested person is also a twenty -year old inhabitant of the southern region of the Kashmir territory, Anantnag district. The NIA claims that Wani was essential in giving technical assistance such as adapting drones and even trying to make improvised rockets that would carry out the operation.
According to officials, Wani was in close association with Umar-un-Nabi who was the suicide bomber that drove the explosive-laden vehicle that exploded close to the Red Fort. As a result of Wani, the group was able to have a significant improvement in its strike capability due to his technical capabilities.
This is the second arrest that the agency has made in two days after Sunday arrest of Amir Rashid Ali, a plumber who was the owner of the vehicle that was used in the attack.
Family Tragedy Amid Arrests
Wani is a Bachelor of Science student of Degree College Lawdora who was first held by the Jammu & Kashmir Police and later handed over to the NIA. He lived next to the doctor Adeel Ahmad Rather who was earlier arrested because he had been involved in the same operation.
But the situation in the family grew when Wani father, Bilal Ahmad, tried to commit suicide on Sunday because he could not see his detained sons. Later on, he succumbed to the injuries. Wani was arrested on Friday along with his uncle, Nazir Ahmad Wani, a lecturer in physics.
Meetings, Travel Routes and Weapon Preparation.
Researchers suppose that Wani had an encounter with some prime participants of the operation at a mosque in Kulgam, and then he travelled to an apartment rented in Faridabad, where IED materials and other arms were being made.
In addition, the authorities revealed Nabi had supposedly brainwashed Wani into being a suicide bomber. Even though he had been training more than a year, Wani ended up dropping out due to the financial hardships that his family was facing and the fact that he believed that suicide was illegal in his religion.
Encrypted Network and Movement Arms.
The group, according to authorities, acted by a highly centralized communication system, using encrypted platforms and allocating highly specified functions. They mostly communicated via a Signal channel, which was made by Umar through special characters in order to avoid detection.
This band of encrypted coordination consisted of at least four people: Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, Adeel Ahmad Rather, Muzaffar Rather, and Molvi Irfan; and they were the central team of the coordination.
The investigation got hotter when the NIA retrieved a weapons consignment in the car of another suspect in the case, Dr Shaheen Shaheed, containing a foreign-made rifle and a pistol. This trail of arms can be traced to the year 2024 when Umar purchased the weapons and transferred them to Molvi Irfan, a cleric who is suspected to be one of the main recruiters.
Clear Division of Roles
Responsibilities at the network were division of responsibilities as indicated by the NIA officials. Financial arrangements were to be done by the three medical practitioners, including Dr Muzammil, Dr Shaheen and Dr Adeel, with Dr Muzammil playing the main role.
A case example, which took place in October of 2023, shows how the group is well organized. Adeel and Umar allegedly arrived at Irfan at Masjid with a rifle in a bag. The same transfer happened the next month indicating a system that was meant to avoid detection by means of distributed tasks.
Additional Sunday Arrest Evidence.
The arrest of Amir Rashid Ali has allowed investigators to put together a number of dots. The officials claim that Ali colluded with Umar to carry out the suicide bombing in a vehicle. Several times he accompanied the group to Faridabad and Kashmir as well.
Until now, the NIA has conducted interviews on seventy-three witnesses who were involved in the blast.
More Arrests Expected Soon
The police indicated that more arrests were expected in the next few days. The NIA and other agencies are still on raids in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, the Haryana and other places it tries to find out the outside hands of the operation, their finances and the targets they may have in future.
