Refernce to.The hindu. Of note is the Haryana government placing its Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur on leave as the government pressures mount on the government to take action following the alleged suicide of a senior IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar.
Haryana Chief Minister’s media adviser, Rajiv Jaitly, said that a formal order would soon complete the move. It is against the backdrop of increasing pressure on the officer by his family and outcry of the people who are demanding arrest of major accused.
Autopsy Delayed because Family Waits to Arrest Accused.
Eight days after Authorities still haven’t conducted the autopsy, eight days after IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar reportedly died by suicide at his Chandigarh home.
The amount of postmortem requested by the family of the officer headed by his wife an IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar has refused until the arrest of DGP Kapur and the former Rohtak Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarniya. The suicide note had implicated both the officers in harassing and defaming Mr. Kumar.
Meanwhile the State government has already relieved Bijarniya of his station at Rohtak when the inquiry is already in progress.
Government Officials Visit Family of Dead Officer.
Officials from the Haryana government visited Amneet P. Kumar at her official residence in Chandigarh and requested her to order an autopsy of the body.
Political leaders from various parties have also stepped in, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi plans to visit the family today to offer his condolences and support. These visits indicate the increased political sensitivity of the case.
SIT Demands Early Postmortem.
On Monday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Chandigarh Police officially asked the Mrs. Kumar to identify the body to allow the postmortem examination to continue.
There were records that PME is highly critical in accelerating the investigation. In addition, Chandigarh Police has asked the government of Haryana to supply valuable documents which are required in investigation.

The investigators discovered a hand written note in the pocket of Mr. Kumar, which he recognized as DGP Shatrujeet Kumar and former SP Narendra Bijarniya as the main instigators.
According to his wife, his behaviors were trigger points that made him commit suicide. Mr. Kumar (52) held the position of the Inspector General of Police to the Police Training Centre in Sunaria, Rohtak.

Justice for Y. Puran Kumar is a group of 31 citizens that are requesting the arrest of the accused officers immediately.
Gurmail Dhabi, a committee member, further added that no filing of an FIR is done in absence of arrests and it interferes with the justice. The group continues to conduct non violent protests so that the government is held to book and introduce transparency to the investigation.
