Refrence to Hindustan Times. A 42-year-old man was also arrested by Pune Police in a shocking incident that can be considered Bollywood thriller Drishyam: the accused is accused of murdering his wife and trying to destroy all evidence of his act.

Sammenar Punjabrao Jadhav, the accused, lived in Swami Sankul Apartment in Shivane and operated an automobile garage, as well as had a diploma in automobile engineering. His spouse, Anjali Sammer Jadhav, aged 38 was a teacher at a private school.
Investigators have noted that Sammer had engaged in an extramarital relationship and used to send Anjali some suggestive messages using the cell phone of a friend in order to make him tense and depict her as unfaithful. He was jealous and deitful and came up with this lethal scheme on October 26.
On this day the couple took a drive in Mariaai Ghat near Khed Shivapur. When they returned, Sammer decided to take Anjali to a godown which he had rented at Gogalwadi Phata in Shindewadi stating that they would have a meal.
A Brutal Murder and a Desperate Cover-Up
When they got into the godown, Sammer supposedly killed his wife by strangulation. In order to get rid of the evidence, he put her body in a big iron box that he had constructed previously, loaded it with firewood and burnt it. He later disposed the ashes in a nearby riverbed and even scraped the metal box to wipe off any traces.
Deputy Commissioner of police Sambhaji Kadam claimed that the accused had carefully planned each step. He hired the godown at 18, 000 a month, erected the iron box in the same, and prepared the firewood beforehand, he said.
‘Drishyam-Style’ Deception
Trying to avoid suspicions, Sammer has reported Anjali missing two days after the murder. He used to visit the Warje-Malwadi Police Station very often and posed as a desperate husband and feigned to pursue the case.
Even after the case was handed over to the Rajgad Police Station, the cops of Warje-Malwadi kept excavating the discrepancies in his statements.
Senior Inspector Vishvjeet Kinegade came out and disclosed that his story had been revealed as wrong by CCTV footage and technical examination. He later admitted the crime when asked once again.

Sammer later admitted that he did them under the influence of Drishyam movie where the main character does all possible to hide the fact of a murder. But this grand scheme backfired and the police carefully unearthed the truth behind the heinous act.
