Pakistan claimed that the hoisting of a saffron flag on top of the newly built Ram Temple in Ayodhya by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was aimed at destroying the Muslim legacy and that it would compel religious minority groups in India to give in to pressure.
The comments were in reference to the Babri Masjid which was demolished on 6 December 1992.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala gave an angry response claiming that Pakistan was the final nation ready to preach to India about minority rights.
He put it as a retort to the statement of Pakistan; Osama bin Laden preaching world peace, that the country concerned should consider its own track record of discrimination first.
He was reminding Islamabad that the remarks were done on 26 November, the day when the Mumbai terror attacks took place, which have always been blamed by India as the support of Pakistan.
To him, Pakistan has not only persecuted Hindus and Sikhs, but Shias, Agha Khanis, Balochis as well as Ahmadiyyas have been persecuted over decades.
MEA Dismisses Statements as Contemptuous.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also criticized the statement of Pakistan before the reaction of the BJP.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told Pakistan that it had no right to moralize on the internal matters of India because it needed to settle its own tarnished reputation of human-rights abuses.
He said that Pakistan is accustomed to mistreating its minorities, but goes ahead giving hypocritical lectures to other nations.
This was a solid reaction which promoted the Indian hardline position on the issue.
BJP Echoes the Narrative of Pakistan as claimed by the opposition.
Poonawala also turned to the opposition stating that the words of Pakistan on Hindutva and Islamophobia were being reminiscently closer to the speech of some Congress/ Trinamool Congress leaders.
He accused them of spreading unintentionally stories that are in line with the political agenda of Pakistan.
PM Modi Raises Saffron Flag in Ram Temple.
On 25 November in the Dhwajarohan Utsav, Prime Minister Modi hoisted a 10-ft-high and 20-ft-long saffron flag upon the top of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
The flag with the picture of the shining sun and the sacred image of Om signified the official conclusion of the construction of the Ram Mandir and was a great cultural event of millions of religion followers.
