Faridabad Man arrested in the shooting of a 12 th student after being refused.

Refrence to News 18. After she declined his advances, a 30 year old man suspected of shooting a Class 12 student in Faridabad was arrested after officers confirmed the incident to him on Wednesday.

Possibly Criminal Identified and Reckoned.

The accused was Jitendra alias Jatin Mangla, who supposedly confessed when interrogated that he fired upon the girl in the act of rage when she refused to talk with him. Police disclosed that the victim had been stalked by Mangla several months prior to the incident.

Incident Details

The Monday evening saw the shocking incident happening in Shyam Colony of Faridabad when Kanishka, a 17-year-old JEE aspirant, was going home after the library visit. One of the CCTV cameras captured the suspected offender waiting outside the street before walking up to her and firing shots to her point-blank.

Condition and Hospitalization of the victim.

Passers by rushed Kanishka to a nearby hospital where she is still under treatment. According to the reports released by India Today, doctors have called her condition stable. The reaction of the locals and the police was fast and as a result, she was provided with immediate medical services.

Arrest and Police Investigations.

An FIR had been filed at City Ballabgarh Police Station following the incident. A special squad of Crime Branch ( sector 65 ) identified and apprehended Mangla at Sarmathla village, Sohna, Gurugram.

The accused revealed that he had been employed with Rawal Institute College, and worked in the accounts department in Jakhopur, Faridabad. He allegedly met Kanishka in 2024 and kept harassing her even after being warned several times.

Motive and Ongoing Probe

On November 3 Mangla supposedly trailed Kanishka once more, confronted her and ordered her to talk to him. Upon her refusal, he pulled out his weapon and fired then ran out of the scene. Police authorities claimed that the investigation is still in progress and the accused is still under further questioning to find out more.
