Reference to Msn. BJP candidate and playback singer Maithili Thakur said she was excited as she was far ahead of her rival in the Bihar assembly elections representing the Alinagar constituency. In her first election, Thakur, who was fighting against her, said it was like a dream and that she would ensure that she delivered to the expectation of the people.
Maithili Thakur Maintains Early Lead.
Thakur is leading by 6,954 votes taking 70,044 votes over RJD Binod Mishra, which has 63,090 votes after 20 counts according to the Election Commission of India (ECI) data at 4 pm.
Talking to ANI news agency, Thakur said, this is a dream. There are high expectations towards me, and I would wish to serve the people diligently. It will be my first term in the MLA, and I will be committed to the well-being of my constituency.
Constituency Development Plans.
Thakur disclosed that she had been making a diary about her observations as she made visits around Alinagar noting the problems and problems she observed. I would like to deal with every deficiency in my constituency. In the five-year span, I will demonstrate through my work that the big bet that was taken on a young candidate like me was right.
Focusing on her main agenda, Thakur said that the state of rural roads was a major issue to her constituents. She vowed to ensure that she made infrastructure repair and improvement a priority.
NDA has Good showing in Bihar.
The overall trends point to a good performance of the alliance between the BJP-JD(U) which is supported by the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the whole country. At 3 pm, ECI sources showed that the BJP had a lead over 92 seats and JD (U) had a lead over 83 seats. LJP by Chirag Paswan was also doing well, topping in 20 of the 29 seats that it had to contest.
Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan opposition was trailing, and the RJD was ahead of the Congress only in 26 seats and the Congress in four seats, as regard official results.
Political Longevity Tested by Nitish Kumar.
This election has been viewed as an election of confidence and political strength to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who has been the Chief Minister of Bihar since almost 20 years. After he was hailed as a hero because of the ability to bring the state out of the so-called jungle raj, Kumar has experienced increased voter apathy and criticism due to his changing political affiliations. This said, there have been early indications that voters still endorse his form of governance.
