Background: A Groundbreaking Move towards High-Speed Rail in India.

The next big project in transportation in India is the Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR). The route covers a distance of about 508 kilometres and passes through 352 kilometres of Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and 156 kilometres of Maharashtra, connecting such big cities as Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Virar, Thane, and Mumbai.

Global Standards Engineered.

The route (nearly 465 kilometres) is being constructed on viaducts with approximately 85 per cent of the route (nearly 465 kilometres) designed using the latest engineering techniques that meet international standards. This has so far seen 326 kilometres of viaducts and 17 out of 25 river bridges that have been done, thus making the passage safer and causing less land disturbance.

The Bullet Train will cut the distance that is covered between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to only two hours, with the startup of the Bullet Train significantly improving business trips, tourism, and economic life in the region. Such a change will create a more integrated and constructive growth channel.
