Refernce to News 18. Lucknow, October 18, 2025 – The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh gave a strong message to Pakistan declaring that all its territory was within the range of BrahMos missile. He said that, operation Sindoor was only a hint of the development of military power and willingness to do anything to stop terrorism in India.
Operation Sindoor: A Breakthrough in the Indian military prowess.
During the flag-off of the initial group of BrahMos missiles produced on Lucknow, Singh said that the exercise was a breakthrough that demonstrated the changing Indian defence capabilities. He said that Operation Sindoor had shown that winning was no longer a thing with us, but a habit.
He also issued a warning to Pakistan, that what it had observed in the operation was a trailer. When it is time to decide its fate, India can just as well create Pakistan as it can give it. You do not need to elaborate on this, you are too intelligent to know, Singh said, his words reverberating in the crowd.
BrahMos: A Symbol of Indian Self-reliant Defence.
The Defence Minister emphasized the fact that the BrahMos missile system is not only a symbol of military power but also it is a symbol of self-dependence and local initiative in India. He stated the unparalleled speed, precision and power of it, as one of the best missile systems in the world.
Singh pointed out that today BrahMos is the backbone of our Army, Navy and Air Force. The operational capability of the missile during real time operations has demonstrated that the rivals of India will not be spared in case they are provoked.
Lucknow becomes an Emerging Defence Manufacturing Power House.
Rajnath Singh commended the development of Lucknow, as a big defence manufacturing industrial centre, and credited the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) as an initiative that has propelled this development. It was several years ago that nobody could have thought that the most sophisticated missiles in India would be produced in Lucknow. Now, the dream is one of the proud realities, he said.
Coupled with the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, Singh hoisted the flag on the first consignment of BrahMos missiles manufactured in the BrahMos Aerospace facility at Sarojini Nagar, which was a landmark move in the quest of the India towards Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).
Increase in Indigenous Defence Ecosystem.
The new plant in Lucknow is a combination of testing, assembly and production facility. Official reports point out that this achievement does not only enhance production of missiles in India but also adds a new impetus to the UP Defence Corridor which allows small-scale industries to engage in the production of weapons.
Singh called on them to continue emphasis on having their local industries so that they can avoid relying on foreign suppliers to provide spare parts and defence components. We are just trying to achieve one thing and that is India is not supposed to have to depend on someone to provide its security.
A New Era for India’s Defence Strength
The event of the launch with the participation of the Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, the Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and other senior officials started a new era in the indigenous production of missiles.
The successful run of the initial batch has made BrahMos Aerospace be one of the dominant countries in the world when it comes to supersonic missiles. The success demonstrates the Indian effort of being innovative, resilient and strategic.
