Indian student Arrested After stabbing two Teenagers with Metal Fork on US - Germany Flight Lufthsana Flight Diverted to Boston After Mid-Air Attack

Reference to India Today. Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli is a 28-year-old Indian student who was arrested in the United States after allegedly stabbing two teenage boys with a metal fork in one of the Lufthansa flights between Chicago and Frankfurt. The mid-air violent incident made pilots to make an emergency landing in Boston on Saturday, October 25.

Reports indicate that the unprovable attack by Usiripalli occurred just after the meal service, when he allegedly assaulted two passengers aged 17 years and stabbed one in the shoulder and the other at the back of the head. Before the flight was diverted to the Boston Logan International Airport, where he was arrested, the flight crew and the passengers subdued him.

Fees and Potential fines.

The U.S. District Court of Massachusetts has accused Usiripalli of assault with a dangerous weapon (intent to harm body) in a plane.
Upon conviction he could be sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, three years of supervised release, and fined up to 250,000 (some 2.1 crore).

Authorities identified him as Usiripalli who entered the United States on a student visa to do a masters degree in biblical studies. Nevertheless, he is not legally a resident of the country at present.

The specifics of the Mid-Air Assault.

Investigators found out that the two victims were seated next to one another in the middle row when the attack took place. One of them slept when he abruptly woke up to see Usiripalli standing over him. The suspect then stabbed the teen on the clavicle and jumped at the second victim hitting him on the back of the head.

The second teen was reportedly deep cut by the prosecutors and was treated when the flight landed safely in Boston.

Post-Attack Disturbing Behavior.

The U.S. Attorney claims that flight attendants attempted to hold down Usiripalli, who then faked shooting himself with a fake gun movement, which he placed his hand in his mouth and simulated the sound of a gun firing. He then hit a female customer a few moments later and tried to strike a crewmember, but was restrained.

U.S. Student Visa Policy Consequences.

Although this incident is being handled as an isolated criminal act, experts believe that this may trigger the temporary intensification of the student visa vetting procedures, particularly in the area of behavioral evaluation. Nevertheless, the government has not posted any official shift in policy.

The U.S. Attorney stressed that the charges are not proven yet, and case is not only a reminder that people should be safe and vigilant on the international flights.
