J&K Police Foil Major Terror Plot in Faridabad; 350kg Explosives and AK-47 Recovered

Terror Bid Everted in Faridabad.

Reference to Hindustan times. In a high profile joint operation with the help of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Faridabad Police, the Jammu and Kashmir Police were able to thwart a massive terrorist plot, by unraveling a massive consignment of explosives and weapons in a rented house located in the Dhauj village, Faridabad.

On Sunday, the raid led to the seizure of about 350kg of explosive material, including 14 bags of ammonium nitrate weighing 100kg, an AK-47 rifle, 84 live cartridges, timers, five litres of chemical solution, and 48 elements of making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Performance based on J&K Interrogations.

It was introduced following the intelligence gathering following the arrest of terror suspects in Jammu and Kashmir. The bombs were found in a house that the student of the Al Falah Medical College, J&K native, Dr. Mujahil Shakil had rented. The police stated that he had hired the property in Dhauj near 3 months prior.

The operation was confirmed by the leader of the operation, the J&K Police and IB who were supported by the local law enforcers. It is not RDX, as was already reported, but ammonium nitrate and a press conference at 11 a.m. would explain the further details, as Gupta did.

Significant Arrests involving Bigger Network.

According to the officials, Dr. Shakil was arrested on October 30 when Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather was also arrested in the same terror module. During the process, Shakil sold information on the explosives leading to the recovery of the hidden inventory in Faridabad by the team.

Early evidence has indicated that both suspects belong to a larger terror organization that is suspected to have cross-border links that are organized to launch big scale assaults in the North region of India.

Bombs that have the potential to inflict a huge damage.

One of the senior officials in J&K Police described the operation as a historic breakthrough that was capable of preventing a devastating terror attack. He also revealed that forensic inspection had determined that the materials which were captured were explosive in nature and could construct several high-intensity IEDs which are adequate in the level of devastation that can be inflicted by them.

The objects thus recovered have been sent to be subjected to strict forensic analysis and several intelligence and counter-terror investigative agencies, including National Investigation Agency (NIA), are probable to be involved in the investigation. The security agency is now focusing attention on the sources and foreign manipulators of the financing of the module.

A Coordinated Success

This combined work is indicative of the power and efficiency of the interrelationship between the agencies concerned with national security and it points out how the dissemination of intelligence and field coordination can be effective at preventing a significant national security threat in time.
