Who Is Vikram ‘Vik’ Bajaj, Jeff Bezos’s Co-CEO at the $6 Billion AI Startup?

Career in Biotech and AI

In 2023, Bajaj co-founded Xaira Therapeutics where he is currently the Director and Interim President. He is also the Managing Director of Foresight Capital since 2017 where he focuses on investments in precision health, AI, data science, and frontier biotechnology.

In 2018, his leadership grew further when he joined Foresight Labs as a co-founder and CEO of the incubator that focuses on the creation of businesses at the crossroads of life sciences and data-driven technology.

Before coming to Foresite, he was Chief Scientific Officer at GRAIL, a healthcare firm specializing in detecting early-stage cancer, a company that only had to bolster his reputation as the founder of the breakthrough in medical innovation.

Experience at Google and Scholarly work.

Bajaj also co-founded Verily (also known as Google Life Sciences) and was the Chief Scientific Officer between 2013 and 2016. When he was at Google X (the so-called Moonshot Factory of the firm), he collaborated with Sergey Brin on high-impact scientific initiatives.

Since 2014, he has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Stanford University School of medicine and previously served on the Advisory Board of the College of Chemistry at UC Berkeley six years.

Education and Awards

Bajaj received his Ph D in Physical Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he performed advanced studies in the physical sciences. Before that, he had done two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania.

His illustrious career in science has won some awards, such as:
