The US is being criticized on being biased towards the explosions in the cities of Delhi and Islamabad.

The various responses of Washington are curious.

Refrence To India Tv. The US has been subjected to acute criticism over its reaction being highly different in response to the bombings in Delhi and Islamabad. Whereas Washington made a sharp and swift statement denouncing the explosion in the capital of Pakistan, it took it 24 hours to react to the explosion in Delhi, which was followed by a short and formal statement. This contrast has invited issues of America being a hypocrite when it comes to addressing the issue of terror-related incidents in South Asia.

Powerful and Instant Criticism of Attack in Islamabad.

Soon after the explosion, the US embassy in Islamabad made a strong and timely statement. It sent its condolence to the families of the victims and assured Pakistan that America could support it in the war against terrorism.

The embassy release indicated that the United States was on the same side with Pakistan and it was in support of its peace and stability operations. It condemned the attack highly and hoped those who were injured would recover quickly.

Formal and Delayed Statement on Delhi Blast.

But Washington reacted much later because of the blast which happened near the Red Fort in Delhi an event that happened a day before the Islamabad attack. The US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, released a statement nearly 24 hours after the attack and it was much more composured than the one towards the Pakistan attack.

He stated that the US offered its condolence to families of the people who had been killed and hoped that the injured would be cured. The message was sympathetic but not with the urgency and hard wording presented in the Islamabad statement thereby raising many eyebrows among many observers of the consistency of America.

Expanding Controversy on US Two-facedness.

The more the two statements were compared by global audiences, the more the criticism was to be leveled. It was claimed that Washington had unevenly reacted, and this was an indication that it was biased on issues to do with terrorism and regional stability. The slow response to the Delhi incident particularly when combined with the immediate action taken to the Islamabad blast gave the impression that the US valued the two tragedies differently- a process that was perceived as unfair by many and politically motivated.

Additionally, as observed by various analysts, this kind of opposite reactions may dent the diplomatic goodwill particularly when the two countries have anticipated that a global superpower such as the United States take a consistent and principled stand on issues dealing with terrorism.
