The announced operation Sindoor, by President Murmu, is an advancement in the Indian counter-terrorist policy. The Indian Armed Forces have done good work as regards to being professional and patriotic.

President Droupadi Murmu appreciated the Indian Armed Forces in terms of their unswerving professionalism and intense patriotism at the opening of the third edition of the Indian Army Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi. She has emphasized that the forces have continued to protect the sovereignty of India with exceptional courage and discipline.

Operation Sindoor , A Point in Time.

Speaking to the audience, the President indicated that Operation Sindoor is a turning point in the Indian counter-terrorism and prevention policy. She remarked that the international community has realised not just the military excellence of India only, she noted that India also acted decisively and responsibly towards achieving peace and her ethical clarity was made clear. The President also clarified that this resounding success proves that the forces are also flexible in regular warfare, counter-insurgence operations and humanitarian missions.

Military as the Step to National Development.

Further on, president Murmu stressed that the Indian defence forces do not just have valuable roles outside the battlefield. They have significantly contributed in the development of border regions, improved infrastructure, connectivity, tourism and education. Such efforts keep boosting the rural locations and enhancing national cohesiveness.

New Threat Environments and GeopoliticalChanges.

The President claims that the world is in a period of rapid geopolitical change, which is characterised by competing centres of power, technological upheavals, and alliances. Establishing the boundary between war and peace is becoming more and more watered by novel arenas of warfare cyber, space, information, and cognitive warfare. However, India has been adhering to its ideal of a civilisational Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which shows that strategic independence and global responsibility do not have to be at odds, and to the rest of the world that India appreciates peace, yet with the determination and power to defend its populace.

Reform of the Army in the Decade of Reform.

President Murmu said he was pleased that the Army is going through a significant change under the Decade of Transformation program that focuses on reorganising forces, modernisation of doctrines as well as redefining capabilities to achieve mission-readiness in all areas. She asked that the reforms will play a major role in ensuring that India will be self-reliant in defence.

Attracting the Youth and Empowering Inclusion.

She also approved of investments made by the Army into youth development in the form of education, development of the National Cadet Corps and sporting programmes. Interestingly, she highlighted the fact that the increasing population of young women officers and soldiers will strengthen the spirit of inclusion and make more women join the forces and other professional careers.

The President was optimistic that the lessons learned during the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 will help policy makers to develop the future defence structure of India. Conclusively, she asserted that Armed Forces will be excellent and progressive and in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 of the nation, a vision that demands long-term policy choice and a long-lasting commitment of the country.
