What PM Modi says : Global Investors Should Look for prospect in Food Processing in India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged investors all over the world to consider the enormous potential found in Indian food processing industry. In his speech at World Food India 4th edition, he pointed out that the country has very impressive advantages, namely, diversity of agricultural products, robust domestic demand, and the possibility to work at big scope. According to PM Modi, this is the right moment to invest in India, because the government is highly encouraging alliances throughout the entire food value chain- farm to fork. He mentioned that India is developing a strong ecosystem that is accommodating to both conventional food enterprises and innovative technologies. One of the main points of his message was an urge to be sustainable and innovative. He advised companies to invest in greener and biodegradable packaging options, which showed that India was determined to grow its agri-food industry in a green manner. Emphasizing the increased role of India in the global food security, Modi pointed out that the food processing capacity of the country increased 20 times in the past decade, and food products export doubled. This trend makes India a newcomer in the feeding of the world. He also presented the vibrant start-up culture in India that is currently the third largest globally. A number of these startups are in the field of agriculture, food technology, logistics, cold storage, and packaging – inventing new solutions and opportunities in the industry. Through favorable government regulations, an ever-growing infrastructure, and the willingness to be sustainable, PM Modi said that India is now ready to partner with the rest of the world in food processing. He urged the global players to join the Indian development ride and explore one of the most promising markets in the food and agriculture sector in the world.
